![]() ![]() I hope she’ll get translated so more people can enjoy her books, she and readers certainly deserve that. If a story gives me moist eyes I can only applaud the writer, I might be a big softy but she still managed to surprise me with this story, rightfully she is one of the better Dutch/Belgian writers and I will be based upon the two books I have read recently search out some more of her books. I must admit I was in awe of the writers skill to tell a story from 5 viewpoints and then put a twist in the tail of the tale that is a serious emotional kick in the ………. The five persons tell their stories from their own point of view so all of the book is being written from the first person. About unexpected happiness that makes living difficult, about secrets that seem too large, about the complexities of being young, about obstacles that have become mountains, difficult to climb, but keep trying till there it becomes impossible. They tell a story from their point of view but it is the same story they share. ![]() Lou is 12 years old, Eva is 36 years old, Elsie is 42 years old, Casper is 46 years old and Jo’s is 71 years old. This book is about being happy and unhappy. The title refers to a Dutch saying “being in the seventh heaven” meaning being happy. ![]()
